What is TCAT?

The Challenge Academy Trust - TCAT

What is TCAT and what does it mean for the children at Penketh South?

Penketh South is one of the schools that forms The Challenge Academy Trust which also currently consists of:-

  • Great Sankey Primary School
  • Broomfields Junior School
  • Meadowside Primary School
  • Penketh High School
  • Bridgewater High School
  • Beamont Academy
  • Sir Thomas Boteler HIgh School
  • Padgate High School
  • Priestley College

Working with the other academies within the Trust has benefited the children enormously already in the short time we have been part of TCAT (April 2018).  Our children contribute to the TCAT Parliament - see below for information about their latest project.  Some of our children have performed in various venues, including the Parr Hall, as part of the TCAT choir and our pupils have worked alongside students and pupils as well as staff from all of the establishments on many exciting projects.  We look forward to many more ambitious projects such as working with Oxford University to ensure our children have aspiration and recognise the opportunities available to them.

TCAT has also supported school by providing large sums of capital funding to improve the building and premises as well as providing an amazing outdoor environment for the EYFS children.  Money has been used to improve drainage and the playground facilities and external works are also planned to enhance the appearance of the outside of the building.  We are extremely grateful.

The Challenge Academy Trust has the vision to provide exciting and inclusive opportunities for every single learner entrusted into our care, from early years through to adulthood.

They will receive an outstanding modern education, from motivated and talented staff, supported by innovative and collaborative partnerships.

TCAT will provide an environment where every learner is nurtured, challenged, and inspired to achieve the very best for themselves and their communities.
