A very warm welcome to all our Year 6 pupils!
This year is going to be full of hard work and determination. It is also going to be full of fun! You are at the top of the school, the role models, the leaders! You are leading the way for the rest of the school, setting the example for the other children to follow. We are very excitied to lead and share this journey with you.
Autumn Term
What about the learning? Topics wise, you will learn in the Autumn term about
History: Slavery and local history about the Wire,
Science: Electricity, Living things and their habitats,
Geography: Locational and Map Skills
Art: 2D to 3D Making

Please have a look at the Curriculum information (see below) if you want to know more. You will also make more progress in Maths and English than you would believe, and be ready, even excited to tackle your SATs in May. We provide you with a rich and diverse curriculum, alongside high quality and inspiring texts to capture and engage your imagination.
In the autumn term we will be going on an educational trip to the International Slavery Musseum in Liverpool as this topic is part of our history curriculum. In the summer term we will be going on a residential. More info to follow very soon about this!
Another major aspect of Year 6 is preparing you for the next stage in your education – the transition to Key Stage 3 and high school. You will become equipped and ready for the jump to secondary school. You will do some incredible growing up over the course of this year and will leave the school as wonderful young adults. .
Homework
- Please read regularly at least three times a week
- Please practise your times table at least three times a week
- Please practise your spelling skills at least three times a week
Please record your homework in your planner and ask your parents to sign it.
